Accuracy International (AI) has been in the business of designing and building sniper rifles for military, law enforcement and civilian sharpshooters for 40 years. AI’s first military sale was 8 rifles to the UK’s Special Boat Service (SBS) in 1985, closely followed by a further 32 to the Special Air Service (SAS). Designed, unlike all other rifles at the time, from scratch solely for snipers, the Precision Magazine (PM) is lauded as the first modern sniper rifle. Later the same year AI won a competitive tender by the British MOD and awarded an order for 1,212 rifles. This latest design, designated L96A1 and nicknamed “Green Meanie” by shooters due to its distinctive colour (green) and spoilsport performance (meanie) rapidly gained a fearsome reputation on the battlefield for its devastating accuracy and rugged reliability.

Successive generations of AI sniper systems have built on this design ethos, serving to enhance AI’s reputation as manufacturer of “the world’s finest sniper rifles”. In Afghanistan, 2009 a British sniper broke the world record for the longest confirmed kill in combat with two consecutive hits at a range of 2,475 m (2,707 yds) using an Accuracy International L115A3 system. Today, AI rifles are the sniper systems of choice in over 60 countries and coveted by professionals and precision shooters everywhere.
